      I’ll say, with all due modesty, that on my worst day I make more sense than the other Farm Bill.

        Here’s to that. I don’t think we need to worry about any Farm Bill (other than you), as a peek at the proposed budget makes clear that there’s no money for anything that doesn’t go “bang.” Ah, priorities.

    I enjoyed the summary. Read it through, and it was enlightening to me, especially as one that is working on getting set up to be able to apply for grants for things like fencing, ponds, and pollinator areas.
    $450,000 max per contract?? It’s bonkers! This stuff is written for corporations holding tens of thousands of acres, or “factory farms”.

      You’re right. That’s exactly what I was going to rant about when I posted this, but at the last minute I decided to pass and just put it out there for people

      Amid the multi-million dollar handouts to Big Ag they drop in a few pesos for “conservation programs,” (to buy off advocates of sustainable ag) then hand most of that out to Big Ag too.
