Children on the Farm

We’re empty nesters now. There are no children living on the farm.

But it’s fun when we have them as visitors.

They enjoyed the goats as well.

Later in the week our granddaughter spent a couple of days with us.

This is a kid-friendly place, and it’s nice to see them enjoying themselves here.

There is just something about kids and chickens…we sell apples in the fall. This is the first time in years we don’t have any chickens on the property. Few weeks ago, a family that comes every year to buy out of the van (3 boys) and instantly they made a bee line for the place where the chickens were last year. hated to break it to them, there were not chickens 😦

Children and chickens (or cows, or goats, or pigs, or…) are one of the best combinations in the world. The photos do a good job of communicating their delight with your world.

  3. One of my fave childhood memories was visiting the Meyers at their farm. I hope you don’t mind me sharing the link here because this post awakened my reverie… ❤

It sounds like an everybody-friendly place! I hope we can come visit you this coming year!

Would love to visit too, but a tad too far. I love having children around the place too, we would like our place to become more of an educational place and something we are working towards

  6. Catching grasshoppers was once a favorite sport of mine, especially when I was going fishing. Almost better than earthworms for live bait. –Curt

Your comment reminds me of how little fishing I’ve done this year. I really need to make that a priority before it’s too late! And the grasshoppers are much easier to catch when it’s cool outside.
