I’m just glad I don’t live in a trailer.
Cherie wants to live in a trailer.
Her dream house is a tiny travel trailer. She says we could set it up down by the pond. I have to admit that it sounds pretty good to me sometimes.
When we built our house ten years ago, it seemed modest by comparison to what some of my friends were building or had built. But now we realize that it’s much bigger than we need. We weren’t as far along on our sustainability journey then, and we still had two children living at home. What seemed reasonable to us then seems unnecessary now. That’s true of a lot of things.
Funny thing is I lived in a trailer for much of my childhood, while dreaming of living in a big house. Now we’re living in a big house and dreaming of living in a trailer. Life is funny like that.
But we’re not going anywhere, not for a long time at least, so for better or worse this is where we’re going to stay.
Unless we move into a travel trailer.
