Sky

We’ve been enjoying the views, as we prepare to transition into a new season.

A beautiful morning

Spectacular sunset

A spectacular sunset

Though I have no photos to prove it, the night sky has also been stunning.  On clear cold nights the stars are awe-inspiring, as was this years Snow Moon, which lit up our snowless farm like daylight.

And spring is fast approaching…

Spring is fast approaching? Really? 🙂 Another month at least for us. It has been unseasonably warm here, in other words hovering just under freezing and occasionally dipping down to well below, but nothing like we have seen before. Enjoy your spring though

Bill, wow, those pictures are amazing. I’m sure they are much more so in real time. Even with the technologically advanced cameras of today, they still can’t capture the majesty of the real thing. Night skies are the most difficult to take pictures of. It just can’t do justice to the experience.

I’m getting a little excited about the coming Spring season. February is fast slipping away. The month is almost half over and March is the beginning of breaking into Spring weather here. We still have patches of snow in the areas that don’t catch the Winter sun. Last week we had days in the 40s and 50s but now we are back in the freezer again. The wildly swinging weather patterns have become the normal patterns of the current weather cycle. Plans for the garden have to be changed to get sizeable harvests as in past years. It presents more challenges and planning but I’m prepared to make an attempt to meet those challenges this year.

Have a great Virginia sky day.

We’ve started our kale and lettuce seeds. Still have more to do. In a month (hopefully) we’ll be tilling and planting.

I’m trying to enjoy the winter skies while they’re still here…

The sun does feel stronger, and having light at 6pm is promising… I look forward to getting through this last tumultuous month of really harsh winter and welcoming spring!

It was beautiful and warm here today but the weather is turning suddenly nasty on us. Very high winds from the north and plummeting temperatures. Maybe even some snow (if so it will be the first of the year for us). Nothing like bad winter weather to put me in the mood for spring. 🙂
