Lover’s Leap

When I drove to Kentucky last week I passed this locally well-known scenic overlook.

It’s a beautiful sight all year.  It seemed especially pretty on a cool spring morning.

The name of the place comes from the story of a young white settler and an Indian girl who fell in love nearly 400 years ago.  Their families forbade them from seeing each other.  According to legend they held hands and jumped to their deaths from this spot, like a New World Romeo and Juliet.
