That is a wonderful photo. I’ve been up in the Texas hill country for three days, and stayed with some friends who have goats. They’re Boer/something crosses. I can’t remember now. They’re pondering their goats’ status, as the humans are getting on in years and it’s getting hard to care for the goats. Plus, there was that unfortunate incident with the billy who decided to play “let’s tear out the rotator cuff”….

Yikes. Sorry to hear about that and hope they find a happy home for their herd if need be. They’re likely Nubian or Spanish crosses. Pure bred Boers can be a challenge to keep healthy sometimes. We need to get some Spanish or dairy genetics in our herd. Fyi, in case you didn’t know, there are more meat goats raised in Texas than in any other state.
