I had help in the asparagus garden yesterday morning from our granddaughter Rayne.

She couldn’t resist having a snack.

She always seems to enjoy her time on the farm.

Her enjoyment is palpable, and the asparagus looks like it’s coming in nicely.

She has a blast here (and so do we :)). We’ve had a lot of sun the last couple of days and the asparagus has really taken off. We only get it for a few more weeks, so we’re enjoying it while we can.

  2. How wonderful to know that a child is still able to spend time on her grandparent’s farm…

Dear Bill, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment today. And thanks also for sharing with us your granddaughter’s visit to your farm. I grew up on a farm, but we really weren’t farmers. Mom planted a large garden each year and milked the one cow we had. And we had chickens and pigs and rabbits, but everything was for our own consumption. Dad had a job as a steamfitter and mom really did all the work on the farm.

I look forward to reading your postings about your farm. Peace.

      Hey Dee. Thanks for visiting.

Let’s see…large garden, milk cow, chickens pigs and rabbits, raising your own food–that sounds like farming in my book. 🙂

But I know what you mean. We’re homesteading first and foremost. We’re trying to pay the bills by farming, but we’re also trying to have few bills.
