Bursting Out

Lately we’ve been getting a couple of beautiful warm days between each rain event.  The rain keeps soaking the ground, to the benefit of perennials (and to the frustration of farmers anxious to plant annuals).

The redbuds and dogwoods are in bloom, as are the cherry, pear and apple trees.   Our new fig trees (one is pictured above) have awakened too.

There are flowers blooming everywhere and the world that was gray and brown is now turning a verdant green.

Wet or not, it’s a beautiful time of year.

It sounds lovely. We’re still praying for rain – lots and lots of it – but at least we’re getting some. And I just found a farm about an hour and a half away that has berries and peaches, grown without pesticides and such. Look at their photos! I predict a trip or two.

I wish we could some of ours to you. It’s raining right now. Again. Actually we need the rain too. I just wish it wouldn’t come every couple of days. We really need it to dry out some. At this point I just have to concede that some of the spring crops won’t be happening this year.
Those photos are definitely mouth-watering. 🙂
