You can’t tell it from this photo, but the goats’ lips are stained green these days.  That is a welcome sight.

But it seems we just launched straight from winter into summer.  Yesterday we had record heat. Last week it was snowing.

Yet just below the surface the soil is still mud.  We’re over a month behind in nearly everything.  At this point I wonder if it’s even worth bothering with the spring crops.  Maybe we should just go ahead and plant the summer crops.

We’ll make that call soon.  But in the meantime Sharona and her friends are happy not to be eating any more hay.  That makes us happy too.
