Our good goat Sheena died of old age last month. She was one of the sweetest, gentlest animals to ever live on this farm and we were very sad to lose her.
When Sheena arrived here she was sickly and emaciated (that story is told HERE). But with plenty of time and TLC she fully recovered and rose to the top of the goat hierarchy. She was confident and healthy until January, when she began to lose her teeth. At that point she declined rapidly.
Sheena and Joey loved one another, despite the fact that she liked to steal his dog food and despite the fact that he once ripped off part of one of her ears (that crazy story is told HERE).
These photos were taken a month before they both died, and they speak volumes about their relationship.
There were also taken in December, when Sheena was still on top of her game.
She loved having her face rubbed.
Her legacy lives on in her kids, but we still miss her.
