Fortunately Hurricane Sandy had no significant impact on us here. We had a couple of breezy days but escaped the problems that so many to the north of us have experienced.
Now it’s turning cold and we’re turning our attention to the next season on the farm.
We’ve cranked up the wood stove, reminding me that I need to spend more time cutting wood. We’re winding down the CSA and already thinking about next years gardens–even as the broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and fall greens continue to come in.
We spent a couple of days this week at Virginia State’s Small Farm Conference, and left it with lots of inspiration and new ideas.
It’s just a good time of year.
