Rainy Day Chores

Yesterday was a typical early winter cold rainy day here.  A perfect day to do the things best done on rainy days–run errands, work on equipment, haul wood, put down more bedding in the sheds, open the ditches and trim goat hooves.

Why is goat hoof trimming on that list?  Because goats don’t like getting wet, so when it rains they tend to all come into the sheds and stalls, making it easier for me to catch them.  They also tend to be more docile when it’s raining.  So a bunch of our goats got their hooves trimmed yesterday and a 51 year old boy got to an excuse to get muddy.
