This is one of those times of year when there seems to be too much to do on the farm. The hay needs cutting. It’s time to plant sweet potatoes. The fence lines need to be cleared. The fences need painting. The gardens all need tending.
And it’s very hot.
A wise person once told me, “Never take on so much that you no longer enjoy doing it.”
Despite the fact that we keep adding more things to do, I can honestly say that I’ve never stopped enjoying farm work. Even when it’s 97 degrees out and it seems impossible to keep up with it all. Even then, life is good.
