We woke this morning to snow on the ground. And something icy still coming down.
I brought the fire to life, took hay to all the goats, coaxed three stubborn nannies (two of whom are due to deliver soon) into the barn pasture, and fed and released the chickens (who took one look outside and decided to stay put in the henhouse). Now I’m warming up with a cafe con leche.
It was a beautiful start to a morning. I can’t help but think of the contrast with how most Haitians will wake up today. It’s good to be home.
