Lambs of God

I’ve blogged in the past about the wonderful work being done by Pastor Daniel Paul and his wife at the Lambs of God orphanage they run in Ouanaminthe, Haiti.  You can read those posts here, here, here and here.  Pastor Daniel is Haitian and a university trained agronomist who understands the importance of sustainability and food production–things more Haitians desperately need to understand.  He and his wife house and provide for 40 orphaned girls and they run a school that educates many more.  The orphanage is truly an amazing place and I very highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good way to help Haiti.  We sponsor one of the girls there and it is a real blessing to receive letters from her.

There are so many things we take for granted in this country that are great luxuries in Haiti.  In the next few weeks, thanks to the generosity of some Americans, the orphange will get windows and mattresses.  Up till now the girls have slept on the springs of bunk beds, with maybe a towel laid over them.  And they are very privileged to have beds.  The vast majority of Haitians do not.  Until now they’ve also had no windows to keep out the rain and mosquitoes.  Glass is a great luxury in Haiti, but again thanks to some generous Americans now they’ll be able to sleep comfortably during the rainy season.

The amount of money it takes to change the lives of kids like these is just a small fraction of what most Americans waste on frivolous things every year.

To learn more about helping this great cause, visit  For an amount of money that most of us wouldn’t even miss, it’s possible to invest in the lives of some kids who may someday help turn Haiti around.
