Cherie and I enjoyed a great evening of worship and music last night with John Michael Talbot at St. Stephen’s Catholic Community in Winter Park, Florida. The music was inspirational, as was the message. But probably the most inspirational thing was the feeling of ecumenical unity. For the last song of the concert he invited all the clergy in the audience to join him. With Catholic priest/monk John Michael Talbot, the Irish Catholic priest from St. Stephen’s, a Presbyterian pastor, two or three Methodist pastors and an Orthodox priest all on stage leading us, the entire audience joined hands and sang the Doxology together. So cool.
As Cherie said afterwards, wouldn’t it be great if all Christians could experience something like that?
