Haiti in July

Cherie and I were very moved by the time we spent in Haiti last summer.  While Cherie has felt drawn to Haiti for a long time, I wasn’t expecting to be so profoundly affected by the trip.  I’ve heard lots of folks describe mission trips as “life changing,” but not until we went to Haiti did I understand what they meant.

Cherie was led to discover Danita’s Children, and a remarkable series of events have convinced us that we need to commit ourselves, in some significant way, to support of the mission there.

In the immediate future our call is to spend the month of July there.  While we’re there we’ll be helping shepherd through a construction team and a medical team from our church.  Hopefully we’ll be able to assist as Danita goes forward with construction of a desperately needed pediatric clinic, and hopefully we’ll be able to begin the process of incorporating gardens using sustainable and organic agricultural practices.

And we’ll be listening for direction as we transition into the next phase of our lives.

Love Wins
