I think that’s easier to say when you don’t fall in love with a singular human being…

I reckon we have to take into account that this is coming from a nun. I’m pretty sure she was talking about overcoming the pain of what she had to see everyday in her work.
I have to agree with Teresa Evangeline on this one. Love may win, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the hurt disappears.
I agree. But I think her point was to overcome the pain that she must have felt so intensely from the nature of her work, she had to let it be overcome by love. During our brief time in Haiti (and I’m sure you know far better what I mean) I wondered how the folks working there could avoid just falling into constant despair, or becoming callous. But even then, I suppose it helps to always feel some of the hurt, even if you keep it soaked in love.
